SO. yesterday I went to the Ghibli Museeum with a bunch of friends. OH I LOVE THE GHIBLI MUSEEEEUM! its seriously so wonderful. I just love running around like a little kid. The short movie that was playing was called 星をかった日 or The Day I Bought a Star. It was.. wow I dunno really good. It was based off an artists book/paintings or something but I seriously LOVED it. I bought the soundtrack (like 6 songs but whatever) and the little book from the movie. I dunno why but Im so in love with it. 16 minutes of film! LOVE!
Im still terribly upset that I wont get to see the new movie until it comes out in the states next year. SO UPSET. Its now a dream to see a Ghibli film in Japan. I so desperately need the song from it, as well.
Then it was time to get ready for The Kick Out Party. We all dressed up in formal wear and there were musical performances by dorm members and each OYR said a little something. I was really dissapointed in the turn out though. A lot of people didnt show up and that made me kind of pissed off. Because here Shinpei and Yuta made this whole thing for us, the Exchange Students, and not everyone came. But whatever, I wouldnt have wanted them there if they werent going to appreciate it.
My speech went okay!! I just kind of winged it. A lot of people had already said "I wont forget Global House" or "This was the best year ever!" and such, so I didnt have much to say. So I just said to rememeber each other, to keep hoping to see each other in the future and be thankful for how we've all touched each other. And then I said drink up, but not too much, so we can remember in the morning :) I think it went well.
THEN there was lots of drinking and rolling around and me HUGGING people a ton. I got lots of stuff written on me "You are the sweetest person ever!" by Julia and "You are so nice. I like you sweetie!" from Yuki and "Sexy & Foxy" on my breasts from Cat, "Touch me" by Matt and "Canon is this _____ much more than you" from.. someone. LOL. very interesting. We went and played on Bakayama again and I ruined my pants with grass stains. Unfortunately I got emo and wandered off alone for a while, and then turned in early. I feel bad-- I should have stayed around and said goodbye to Julia but I sometimes can get so emo *teh lame!*
But it was fun. I think perhaps some good closure? Unreal, though. No one really felt like its going to be over soon. Which is probably why there wasnt much crying. Charles, however, started crying and that was SO CUTE and sweet. He leaves tommorow so I hope to see him off.
BUT now I have to run for dinner with my students. AND THEN its drinking and Karaoke ALL NIGHT with one of our teachers. I dunno if I can do this all night thing but I'll try. SO TIRED already from last night. :)
