Books to be read when next I have the time to do reading that is not class-related:
- Ulysses. How many times have I threatened to read Ulysses? At least I own it now, and I have it sitting on my shelf staring at me every night when I try to sleep making me feel really really guilty.
- Swann's Way. It's supposed to be really really good. It's staring at me too.
- The Island of the Day Before. My next Eco. To whom I must send a letter!
- The Testament of Yves Gudrun. Cool little book I picked up this summer and still haven't touched.
- David ben-Gurion's memoirs.
- Kitchen Confidential - cheap fun reading
- Contemplating Adultery: the Secret Life of a Victorian Woman. Supposedly the diary of a real Victorian woman contemplating infidelity; it sounded intriguing and i bought it. probably nonsense, but it's short.
- This book I bought whose title I do not recall but I think it's someone's essays on the enjoyment of sensual beauty. And, since I'm a diehard sensualist and a lover of essays, it seemed a worthy item to purchase.
- Mason&Dixon. I must get to Pinchon
I could keep going. And for quite a while. There are so very many books I want to read. They just accumulate onto my already-outgrown shelves. Ridiculous - I need more bookshelves for my apartment already. I'm going to have to start putting bookshelves in the library soon. (Actually, if it weren't for the humidity, that's a fantastic idea. There's tons of empty wallspace...)
