Dredg
My brother Shane, Paul, Jason, and I had the great pleasure of seeing Dredg live at the House of Blues. Words can not express my enthusiasm -- Dredg absolutely blew us away and left me wholly awe-inspired -- for last night's show! The energy and sheer emotion of the band was enough to aurally fuck my eyes white. Jesus ...fucking ...Christ they were good!
All of the members seemed a little out there. On album Gavin's voice is just amazing; I did not expect him to sound better live. The guitarist was seemingly sane. Drew, the bassist, completely disregarded all social tact by throwing shit at the drum kit and smoking pot on stage (with his pipe in plain view). Dino: oh my! Don't get me started with this mad scientist of a drummer. Shane said it best with, "He fucking showboated throughout the entire set and hit on time!" Whenever he cracked a stick, threw it into the crowd and used the newfound hand to play keyboards while holding a beat; my jaw just hit the floor. All of my friends had the same look of disbelief; even the musically inclined Jerry Martin was blown away by their performance.
Hell, this one kid to the right of me looked as if he took a wad-full of ecstasy tabs. I swear ...the guy nutted by the fifth song. Next time I won't even bother buying a drink because they are that solid.
