The Saga Continues

So it's been a while since I've posted anything on here.

Last week I went back to Longview to spend some quality time with my folks. It was a really impromptu trip, and I am really glad I went back.

I drove all night after my last day of work. When I finally got there in the early AM, my dad was up for work. I had a pretty long talk with him. Since I don't really get a lot of chances to talk to my dad, I really appreciated that. I spent the day catching up with my mom and going grocery shopping. That night, we all went to Frank's European Cellar for some German-Austrian food. I really liked the place. I ate Jager-schnitzel and spatzel and had a St. Pauli's Girl to wash it all down with.

That night we watched "The Weather Man" and I introduced my mom to "Battlestar Galactica" (the new series, not the old one), which apparently is her new favorite show.

The next day I played some Ghost Recon 2 and walked Laka Sacajawea with my mom. Then we did a "Battlestar" marathon. We made homemade mac and cheese and some chicken breasts and thighs for dinner and basically just watced "Battlestar" hahaha.

My final day was a lot of relaxation. I washed my car, played more Ghost Recon, and more Battlestar. When my dad got off work, we went to Vancouver for dinner at the Golden Tent Mongolian Grill, followed by Sheriton's Frozen Custard (yum!).

I had a really good time (as I do every time I go home). I miss my parents a lot, and I'm glad I'm not so far away that it's impossible to see them occasionally.

Not too much has happened since then. Work, mostly. Wednesday I went up to Spokane with a ton of people from work to check out "Superman Returns." We had dinner at Hooters (which was a very mediocre experience), and then did our best to find the IMAX theater at Riverside.

I rode up with Chris and his girlfriend Katie. We ended up sitting together too. I really liked the movie experience (IMAX after all) and I thought the movie was "good." It wasn't exceptional, but it wasn't bad either. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I really thought that the casting was solid, the special effects were perfect, and that the characterization were above average. It lacked superior dialogue and could have used a real villainous threat to Superman. I thought we got to see him vulnerable, which is great, but I would have loved ONE eye-candy super-villian fight scene. It needed it.

Anyway, I am back into the swing of the work week. Last night I got a chance to see Angel for a while, that was awesome. It's good to see people that you don't normally get a chance to see. Plus, I miss Angel, she's cool people. The only thing that sucks is I won't get a chance to see her for a while again. :(

All right well I need to get ready for work. happy trails . . .
