[This is not a battlefield. This is the site of calamity.
Naoya knows it, and his geta make no sound as they step across the silent plain. This flat, bleak landscape…was once a city. There are a few buildings left…but not much. There’s precious few people left-many bodies were evaporated by the sheer force of the blast, so close to the epicenter.
Naoya has a destination in mind, and time seems to be standing still until he gets there. Farther from the center, there are more buildings…and a scene is unfolding in the shattered ruins of one.
A man lays there, shielding a little girl with very…familiar coloring. She’s burned very badly-and Naoya knows she will die a few years later, from radiation poisoning-but right now, she’s still conscious. Conscious, and even though there is no sound from her mouth, Naoya himself unconsciously murmurs the words on her lips.
‘Why did you shield me!? Stupid…it doesn’t change anything! It doesn’t change anything…’ The man, by some grace of…something slits open his eyes-there will be no saving him, as he has been blown in half-and they are a hauntingly familiar shade of blue…his smile is also familiar, painful as it is.
‘Because you are precious to me, ne?’
It wasn’t fair, Naoya notes. He bites his lip as the man dies, and doesn’t bother looking as the memory keeps playing, as rescue teams finally find the girl.
For all of the power of angels and demons, this was what humanity was capable of…a power all their own. They’d destroy themselves, driven by the whisperings of that ancient war. So kill two birds with one stone…He turns, and his geta make a hollow clacking sound as he walks into the room where the server for the demon summoning program rested.
“Soon…” He stares up at it, and shakes his head. “It’s all falling into place…humanity will be free from you, Yahweh…free from you, and so will I.” Naoya starts laughing, insane and pretty disturbing.
“Does anyone even believe in you anymore? Watch helplessly while I take everything from you, you bastard.” His eyes narrow, face twisting into a snarl.
“You will pay for what you’ve done.”]
[Naoya rolls over to stare at his dreamberry for a while, before sighing and picking it up.] Of course…it would record this sort of thing, wouldn’t it? ...I suppose it doesn't matter.[He frowns, before shrugging and turning off video.]
[ooc: He didn't bother to filter it, but be prepared for him to be extra bitchy. :|b Also, /spams forever]
