Not too much going on around here lately. We've all been laying low in preparation for our little globe-trotting adventure in a few weeks. That's going to be 11 busy, crazy days but I'm sure it'll be fun. I'm really looking forward to Florence; I've always wanted to go to Italy. (Mmm, pizza.) Prague and Vienna should be interesting too, a nice change from the usual modern-Western-Europe fare that I'm used to. Travelling here isn't as cheap as I was expecting; that's why I've only gone to Belgium, Paris and a few other cities around France. I've already been to Spain and let's face it, my Spanish is horrible so I don't have much of a desire to go back there. I'd love to revisit Mallorca someday though, since it's absolutely, breathtakingly gorgeous and warm.
I've been spending my Saturdays in centre-ville, doing some shopping. Camaieu is my new favorite store. The European H&M is also good for basic stuff like tanks and whatnot, which is surprising for me considering I'm not much of a fan of the H&M back home. (But the European chain is different, it's less... outdoorsy/hippie-ish.) I need to take some pictures in town before I leave. I think I'm spoiled because I live here, so I don't realize how nice the architecture is. The cathedral is beautiful, though I'm pretty sure I already have a few photos of it that I took a while ago, at least of the inside. I know I haven't really done any "picture posts" yet, but I'll get around to it. If anything I'll do a big one when I get home as a way of recapping the past months.
I registered for fall semester yesterday. I think I'm going to be lazy next semester and only take four classes. I could technically graduate in December if I wanted to (but I don't, so I won't), so I'm giving myself a break. Here's the schedule:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday
FRN 412: Love and Adventure in the Age of Eleanor of Aquitaine (12-12:50)
Tuesday/Thursday
PSY 335: Psychology of Social Behavior (11-12:15)
PSY 442: Psychology of Exceptionality (12:30-1:45)
PHL 314: Ethical Issues in Society and Medicine (2-3:15)
I'm satisfied. They should all be interesting, and it'll be nice to be able to sleep in a little every day. I sleep so late here. If I have no reason to get up, I'll easily sleep until noontime. I never, ever sleep that late at home. Usually I'm up around 9:30 or 10. The only time I sleep late is if I'm spending the night with Josh and we lay in bed talking until 4 in the morning.
I'm so excited to get a kitten when I come home. I'm naming her Zula, and she will be spunky and friendly and a lapcat. And not orange. I have never in my life met a good-tempered orange cat.
Chris, I was thinking the other day about how much I miss our "Ask me something" conversations, so (this is open to everyone):
Ask me however many questions you want about whatever you want, and I'll answer. Tell me if you want me to screen your comment for, you know, "content."
