[Avoiding people has been harder and harder for him lately. The drones are staying at home, even though his housemates have been recently replaced with non-droned citizens. His "doting" drone wife keeps nagging at him to stay at home after dark, that there were communists out there looking to kill innocent people.

[ All the phone calls are freaking Firo out, so he heads for the park, hopefully there he won't have to hear about so-and-so being a murderer or stealing all the cookies. He spots Spy and trots over; he wants to make sure he's okay after the July 4th madness. ]

Hey. Is your accent back for good?

[Spy perks up immediately when he hears someone address him. With a quick once over, he's able to identify that this person is not a drone, so he lets out a quiet breath and offers Firo a small smile.]

Oui. I am indeed French, born and raised in zhe elegant country, and I definitely 'ave not lived in zhis ridiculous American town my whole life. Unfortunately, you will 'ave to deal wizh my "silly accent".

[ Firo smiles back ]

I suppose I will; can't teach an old dog new tricks.

But I was wonderin', did you notice people actin' weird today?

[He's quiet for a while.] Oui, I 'ave. Zhe drones are being especially nervous, and everyone seems to be confessing to some sort of sin on zhe phones...

[His mouth twitches.] I myself 'ave been avoiding zhe ozzers. Zhe state of zhe people is worrying me, and I am afraid zhat even I will begin to admit to zhings I would razzer not.

[Like right now. He bites his lip, but attempts to keep a straight face.]

Considerin' your line a' work, that'd be pretty bad, huh?

[ Firo pauses and glances off into space, then looks back at Spy, forcing a smile. ]

Want me ta' tape your mouth shut until this is over?

I appreciate zhe gesture, but I am certain zhat I 'ave zhe power to remove tape from my mouzh if I really wanted to.

In any case, zhere is no citizen in zhis town I 'ave any information on, barring my teammates. Any ozzer information is irrelevant and zherefore not somezhing I would 'ide, merely somezhing I would not share. Information about myself, 'owever, is an entirely different matter.

[He pauses as he bites the inside of his cheek.] Like zhe fact zhat I miss ma cherie dearly, and zhat is causing me to avoid zhe BLU Scout as much as possible.

[ He raises an eyebrow. ]

..."Cherie?" Who's that?

[His voice lowers.] Ma cherie. It means "my darling". Zhe BLU Scout's mozzer.

[ Firo takes a step back and stares at Spy ]

...You have a... with one a' your colleagues' moms?

It-- it was an unfortunate coincidence, I was wizh 'er before 'e 'ad even considered going to join BLU--

[He closes his eyes and puts a hand to the bridge of his nose.] Merde, I should not sound so defensive. Je m'excuse. It is a fact zhat I cannot change, oui? Only a device I can use to bozzer 'er son wizh.

[ He blinks and tries to figure out if he heard the last sentence correctly. ]

Wait, so you're only with her ta' bother her kid? That's pretty low, isn't it?

Non, non, non, I love 'er truly, I do-- But zhere is no need for you to know zhat. 'Ow can you understand what it is like to love a woman when you are barely of age? I 'ave no shame in regards to my relationship, but it is razzer difficult to 'andle sometimes--
