I took
amyurban's suggestion and ran, not walked, to see Iron Man this Sunday.
Oh, Robert Downey, Jr. absolutely rocks it. Tony Stark has got to be my favorite flavor of angsty conflicted action hero yet. And the Tony/Pepper ship? I'm so on board with that. And oh Uptown's 3 story wrap around screen featuring righteously loud action movie fun, how I missed you!!
And the previews of summer joy.
The Dark Knight looks like it has great potential, and blessed be they got rid of Katie Holmes, she absolutely ruined Batman Begins for me beyond redemption. Maggie Gyllenhaal looks more appropriate for the movie, and I was glad to see Gary Oldman is also back. Also looking forward to seeing Health Ledger of course.
The Hulk sequel looks less than impressive. Just someones theory of making a bigger is better movie sequel. Meh.
I can't help but be excited by the The Crystal Skull, I think it's the little kid in me that remembers going to the Indiana Jones movies and playing the adventures out in my friends' back yards (we've buried many 'treasures' in the past, makes me wonder when/if they've ever been found).
And to verify that winter is truly over, we've had the season's first shrimp cook-out for dinner yesterday. My tummy is still very happy. I made a bracelet for the cook as a thank you for the meal, I like that this jewelry making thing is working out to pay for itself in a payment-in-kind sorta way.
I am also now coming up with my list of 'must repurchase in blu-ray" DVDs while trying to remain frugal. Top on the list is, of course, Serenity but still need to add more. Thoughts?
