"It was my first clue that atheists are my brothers and sisters of a different faith, and that every word they speak seaks of faith. Like me, they go as far as the legs of reason will carry them- and then they leap."
-'The Life of Pi'
That quote isn't the answer to the question, but I think that it is true and useful anyways. I believe there are things beyond our understanding, and also occurences that traditional science cannot yet explain (but that it will be able to solve in the future).
So many things are bigger than us. Science and God and nature and love are bigger than we are, so how can we understand them? Even if I understand one something on one level, I cannot understand it's entirety. I know my skin is made of cells; I know how my cells work; I know what atoms are and, to an extent, how they function. However, I do not understand how to make any of these things. I don't understand the impetus behind their creation in the way that they are created, or the way they were put together to make me specifically. I can be understood with science, but science cannot actually explain me.
