I started back at school again last week. I'm taking a 5 week semester of Bio 101, followed immediately by a 5 week semester of Bio 102. I'm doing this so that I can take my other Biologies quickly next Fall and Spring and apply to nursing programs for the Fall of 2010.
We cover a chapter a day, and do a lab a day. I'm in class from 11 until around 4, which makes it really difficult to work, so I'm taking weekend shifts to pay for gas.
School is hard, but I think I'm doing ok. I aced a quiz last week, but I'm very aware of my first test this Monday. I've been awesome so far about staying relaxed, because all I can really do in this case is my best and panicing wouln't help anything. I want the A, but all I need is a C. I think a B will be juuuuuust fiiiine.
Bulletins!
-I relaxed my cousin's hair last night. The girl's have prom this weekend, so my mom did Brianne's and I did Cammy's (another girl living with my aunt right now). It took 3 hours to apply no-burn gel to her scalp, apply the relaxer, wash out the relaxer, and blow dry the hair straight. White girls, we have nothing to complain about.
-One of my friends from high school is pregnant, and we're going to throw her a baby shower later this summer.
-Going to school is harder and easier than before. I seriously couldn't have passed a five week semster without the study habits I learned at Mary Washington (bonjour flashcards and outlines!). I study or do work between 2 and 4 hours a day after class. It's hard, but I don't get the anxiety I did when I was younger because I'm paying for my own degree on my own time to do my own thing. I don't want to disappoint anyone, but really I'm the only one to dissapoint.
-That said, I'm afraid I will never call you back. Facebook wall posts are really as good as it gets (:
-[THIS STORY ENDS OK. NOTHING BAD HAPPENS.] My fourteen year old cousin Chris got hit in the face with a hockey stick last Wed. He was in the hospital for awhile and they were worried he was bleeding on the inside, but it turned out he just had a concussion. Boy does he have a shiner!
-High five to Eric and Logan on the safe birth of their twins.
-School is less strenuous than I thought it would be, but I still get a little frustrated by my total inability to make plans. Do I want to go out on June 4th? I have no idea, because who knows if I'll be drowning in work by then or if the teacher will announce a quiz for the next day (as she is wont to do).
I think that's all for now. I don;t have time to post on my own very often, but I do enjoy reading your work. Hopefully I'll talk to you soon!
