It feels so weird...

I got laid off from Gamestop. There just weren't any openings for the GAs from our store. Or so we've been told. It's weird not working there, even though it's only the first week. Kinda sad. I really really really really loved that job, even if it was low pay and few hours. It was a nice getaway from more stressful jobs and life and stuff.

On the plus side, I know a lot of the managers in Omaha, particularly in the other district, which technically I'm closer to most of those stores anyway. So perhaps as we get closer to summer I might be able to snag a job again.

I've been doing a bit more cake decorating at Walmart. The manager wants me to try to get in as many as I can when I get done with donuts early (basically... not during the weekend, lol). But sometimes I get the feeling I'm just in the way of the main cake decorator. She's a real nice lady and really really really talented, but she doesn't want to train me I don't think. Or maybe doesn't have the time. But every time I bring up maybe doing a cake (like if I have a half hour or so before my shift ends) she just tells me to go home early. And it's like "You are constantly talking about how you have tons of work and not enough time and here I am offering to help and you're pushing me away." I know I'm not up to her level of technical skill (I think I'm right up there in the creativity and possibly a bit ahead in the artistic skill) but it's something I really want to do.

Otherwise life in general has been kinda same-old, same-old. In terms of my "resolutions" from last month, I'm working on them. Definitely got the reading one down, so far. Read 4 different books in January (dunno what's going to happen when I finish this series though, lol). Played a few video games but haven't beaten any yet. Mini ninjas is fun and kinda like Zelda, though maybe I should've gotten it for PS3 instead of wii (despite wii being 15 bucks cheaper, the controls are a little offputting until you get used to them). Fairytale Fights is fun but the platforming is frustrating and I'm glad I only paid like 20 bucks for it. Castle Shikigami 3 is well... like every other Castle Shikigami game - retardedly hard (I doubt I'll beat it anytime soon).
