school isn't so bad

My major is digital media- it combines audio, video, image, and web design.  I chose it because I really wanted to be an art major and emphasize in graphic design or photography, because those are what I really love, but I went with digital media because I thought it would be more marketable.  My favorite thing to focus on is image design, obviously, so this semester has been ok.  The Principles of Digital Design class is mostly image-focused (totally not fitting the catalog description and totally in my favor) and the Flash Animation class is basically a joke with a young, dumb teacher, so I've been teaching myself Illustrator when I'm not half-assing what he is attempting to teach.  And even the Web Essentials class (XHTML and CSS, basically) isn't so bad.

This is all mostly an excuse to post the assignment for Digital Design that I was working on today.  I have to do a Warhol-inspired and a pop-art-inspired photo manipulation and turn them into magazine ads.

For the Warhol-inspired, I used a picture of Sam trying on an ugly hat at Walmart.  I love it.

For the pop-art, I used a precious picture of my sister.

She was totally bugged when I showed her.  She should be glad that I did "Use Purell" instead of "Use condoms" like I was originally planning to.

school, arty shit
