Pouty Dr. Brennan is me ATM
Using my LJ for little more reason than to show off my cute icon of Dr. Brennan pouting at me. :C Teehee. Appropriate, though, my computer's been acting up this evening and being otherwise weird.
Among other things, my Mom basically told me yesterday I should be Steampunk. That it suited my physique and flattered my (absurdly) long limbs. When I look at what was considered the epitome of beautiful, I would've fit in sometime around Victorian era to the turn of the century.

My pale pale skin, dark hair, slight pinkish tone, rounded-off cheeks, chin and nose, and- yes, even my much hated little gullet under my chin were all considered charming. Well, crap. It kind of sucks to realize you were born way too late to be considered beautiful. D: FML.
In any case, Mom said that the long skirts and emphasized small waists and overall tones used in steampunk would be really flattering, and, among other things...
...attract my type of guy.
...FML. Having to dress steampunk to attract Gentlemen. :|
I actually really love Steampunk anyway, so I wouldn't mind having a few pieces floating about. I found a gorgeous hair pin made out of clock hands on Etsy that I'm coveting greatly. I just worry because in the end, I do love light and soft pastels and candy colors, which aren't really part of the Steampunk curriculum. That, and I know nothing of Mechanics, so I'd probably crash any airship that I'd pilot or steer.
That said, I think I'd make a FINE candy salesgirl in the concessions booth INSIDE an airship? I wonder what a cross between Sweet Lolita colorways and Steampunk silhouettes and items would look like? I'm going to have to draw it, now!
Goodness me, I have so many fashions I'm fond of. I keep telling myself I should focus and settle on one style. Sweet Lolita, Natural-kei, Decora, Victoriana, Fairy-Kei... All of them are parts of me in some way. I guess that makes me a fashion schizophrenic!
Anyway, enough silliness. Sleep time! And let's see if I can wrestle my computer to behave.
