Friends Only
Hopefully you've read the "about me" stuff on my profile; if you haven't, I recommend doing that first, since I'm not going to repeat myself here. This entry isn't to get to know me, it's for me to lay down a few ground rules.
This journal used to be primarily public; however, due to some work-related issues with a co-worker's blog, I decided it was time to lock things down tightly. That in mind, I have a few requirements if you're interested in being my friend:
First of all, you must comment here when you're requesting to be added as a friend. I cannot stress that enough: YOU MUST COMMENT ON THIS ENTRY TO BE CONSIDERED. If you don't, you will be ignored. There is a reason for this.
WHEN YOU COMMENT ON THIS ENTRY, you must include where you know me from, whether it be a comm or through a mutual friend. This will play a large part in my consideration of your friend request. With few exceptions (like unless I recognize you already), I will ignore a comment that doesn't include this information.
Please include why you want to be friends in your comment. This isn't a requirement, but it would be preferred. Especially if we haven't interacted much or at all, if I have no idea who you are or why you're here, then I don't have very much to go on for letting you into my life, parts of which I'm quite protective of. So please, just give me something to go on.
If you follow the rules and get added, awesome! I really do love new friends, I'm just a little (understandably, I hope) paranoid these days. Once you're in, there will be a post with additional details that you ought to know.
