Colin watched over Jared, he was walking in front of him through the candy aisle of the super market in yet another one of those huge dresses (Where DID he get them anyway?), skirt swaying from left to right and back, it almost seemed as if the little cupcakes in the dress were dancing, he was wearing black thighs with pink and white polka dots and a cupcake in the side of each ankle, and black shoes to go with the black and pink dress with cupcake print, Colin looked after Jared because of the paparazzi, they were starting to harass them a little too much and he didn't like the attention, Jared looked at him and smiled, then turned around to go to the next aisle and bumped against a man who excused himself politely after noticing Colin following the puffy skirted character, and quickly left.
The next day, a tabloid read in a small square: “I bumped against Colin Farrell's little lady on the super market yesterday, she has the biggest, bluest eyes I've ever seen (Bluer than Jared Leto's, and that is saying quite a lot), and quite a sweet smile... And she smells like candy...”

Hephaistion could smell the blood... His blood... HER blood to be a little more precise... Now, after living his (herherher) whole life wondering why women made such a huge scandal when they had children, he (shesheshe) finally figured out why... It hurt like bloody murder...
The scent of... Her blood... The blood... Lingered around the room, the maid that helped... Her... To give birth to Alexander's heir was now cleaning all the mess and her assistant was talking to the King, who stood by the door, looking at his lover with genuine concern... Could they not make the reek of blood go away? Hephaistion felt like sleeping and never waking up... But he (SHE!) had to know... Had to know what the child was...
Before Hephaistion could think, Alexander was already sitting there, near the bed, Hephaistion was ashamed, he didn't want Alexander to look at him (her...) like this... Weak... But Alexander was not looking at his Queen, he was looking at the small bundle of blankets the maid's assistant put on his arms, Hephaistion looked at it, fighting sleepiness.
“What did we get?” The queen asked weakly, but Alexander did not answer immediately, he was focused on the newborn, who wailed softly. “Alexander... What is it?”
“Oh, my poor sweet princess...” He heard the King say sweetly. “You are not what was expected... But you are no less loved by me...” Alexander sat next to Hephaistion, showing the honey eyed child to his beloved. “You will not be the heir of all this world, but you, my little Clio... Will be ours...”
Hephaistion smiled, looking at his... Not his... Definitely HER child... The hours of pain had been worth it all in the end...
Suddenly, the scent of blood wasn't that bad now...

“I have no idea, Jun... I can't remember... When the day ended, everyone smelled like sweat and horse shit, even Alexander!”

Alexandra could smell it... The scent of poison... Pure, raw, wild poison... The market was filled with it... But this particular one caught her nose... The scent of slow death... The scent of slow, painful, merciless death... And she knew perfectly well where that scent was going to...
“Allow me, Bagoas... I'll take this to Hephaistion...” She said, taking the bowl of soup and smiling sweetly at the eunuch, who didn't buy it and insisted he should take it to Hephaistion himself. “No, no, I INSIST... I will deliver this to Hephaistion...”
“No... I want to make sure...”
“AHA! Make sure of what?” Alexandra whispered, pushing the plate against Bagoas and moving closer to the persian boy. “Make sure he eats all the soup so all the poison will kill him slowly and painfully? Is THAT what you want to make sure of?”
“When he dies, Alexander will love no other but me...”
“Ah, but that is where you are definitely wrong, my dear child... Your brain doesn't even begin to understand what those two mean to each other... You THINK that when Hephaistion dies, you will have the King all to yourself... But if he dies, Alexander will die with him! And you want to know why? Because he LOVES him! Whether it hurts you or not, whether you like it or not!”
Alexandra could not take it any longer, she pushed the boy with all her might, and he fell to the floor along with the bowl, the whole contents of it pouring all over the boy's clothes and the marble floor, the girl looked at him in disdain, the scent of the poison still lingering.
“I will make another soup for Hephaistion... You go and clean up yourself, disgusting...”

Colin often looked for something... Anything that could remind him of his lost lover... He would make a cup of coffee in the morning and imagine him there, sitting on the other end of the small table, smiling and eating something that Colin would most definitely not like. He would go out and take a smoke and could almost hear Jared's scolding voice, telling him he was gonna fucking die if he kept that up...
He wasn't really alone, Jared hadn't really left... Not if he could still smell the candy scent of his hair or see him cooking another little memory in the kitchen, or hear his voice scolding him for little things... He wasn't really alone, Jared was still there... Technically... Because a person is never where his body is, but where he is missed the most... And this was where he was missed more dearly...
Yes, he was still there with him... He was still there because Colin could still feel Jared's arms around his waist and the warmth on his breath and the sweet scent of his skin lingered everywhere he went... He was still here... He wondered who was with Jared, if he wasn't away...
