ume, in bite-size pieces

So I've been playing Skies of Arcadia. I broke down and bought it since it was cheap all of a sudden. :D ($17.99 at amazon for the GameCube)
- So the first thing I noticed? The music is really pretty, especially the music that plays when you're at the start screen. <3 Whoever did the composing did it right.
- I have much love for all of the characters so far. I was wary of Fina at first, being the stereotypical healer/shy and timid/girly-girl meant for the hero, but she's actually not too bad. Vyse won me over despite his character design. What?! I'm shallow. I freely admit it. :P And Aika just kicks ass.
- I really like that the three of them (Vyse, Aika, and Fina) are first and foremost friends. Yay for games in which friendship >> romance!

I’m moving along in Houshin Engi finally. I eventually gave up on trying to keep the characters in the original story straight. I'll save that for another day, when I have more time to map it out as I read. ^^; So, I think I just finished volume 11? Anyways, I just realized that I don't know what any of the characters' names are. ^^; But this fansite was most helpful. Going to have to bookmark that. :D
- Eeeheheheh~ I haven't seen her yet in the manga. But yay! I love the character design of Joka!
- I remember Tou Sengyoku and her paopei Gokouseki from the original, because they have the most amusing description of her paopei, and how something so simple manages to defeat a bunch of people from the other side. And it just kills me because it's portrayed much like how I imagined from the original, save that the manga has the additional makeup factor. (this only adds to the ridiculousness factor. XD)
- I think I prefer the Nataku from Houshin Engi over the Nataku of Saiyuki, although that may just be because he doesn't show up much in Saiyuki. Do they ever start going into more detail about 500 years ago? -_-

Dan Doh!! - Never in a million years would I have thought that I'd watch an anime about golf. But then again, I did watch one about go... so.
- the smiley ball kills me. And they even work it into the plot. Here's me rolling. I was wondering why there was a smiley faced golf ball in the opening. XD;;
- You know, this feels a bit like Hikaru no Go. It's the way they're so very melodramatic about their sport. And of course the rival who seems beyond reach, but is secretly monitoring him. That all feels very similar too.
- While it was hilarious that his friends all lined up to switch into golf when he decides he wants to become a pro golfer, I hope that they become decent golfers too. Please don't leave this batch behind! I like them!
