So there's all this hubbub going on about ADV emailing this fairly popular tracker asking that their licensed titles be removed, right? I don't see what the big deal is. Oh, I expected all the complaining and whining, which is happening right on schedule. But there are some really strange things going on at those sites where people are

if anime/game companies REALLY wanted to keep people from illegally downloading, they'd make it harder to do

I think I'm perhaps less moral that you, and I can't really cast that first stone. But I definitely agree that they're just spoiled and have somehow rationalized to themselves that they deserve the things they can't afford for free.

I think it's mainly the attitude that they're in the right and this firm belief that they deserve things for free! And the companies are the big bad! The world owes them! that really irritates me. But they should at least acknowledge that they're in the wrong. I mean, I'm not philanthropic enough to buy everything I've watched because it'll benefit the anime/manga industry/community, helping bring over more quality titles/translation; I buy things because they are things I really like and want an honest to goodness pristine and legitimate copy with all the trappings. If it's something you really would die without, save up and buy it like everyone else.
