Rent and the Buddahs

Mark: December 24, 10:00 pm, eastern standard time. I can't believe a year went by so fast. Time to see what we have ... time to see. Turn the projector on! First shot Roger with the fender guitar he just got when he sold the car that took him away and back.
Roger: I found my song!
Mark: Found his song, if he could just find Mimi.
Roger: I tried. You know I tried.
Mark: Fade in on Mark, who's still in the dark.
Roger: BUT HE'S GOT GREAT FOOTAGE! ...
Mark: But these cut together!
Roger: ... to screen tonight.
Mark: In honor of Benny's wife ...
Roger: ... Muffy.
Mark: ALLISON!
Roger: ... for pulling Benny out of the east village location --
Mark: Then again maybe we won't screen it tonight.
Roger: I wonder how Allison found out about Mimi.
Mark: Maybe a little bird told her.

Colin: or an Angel ...

Colin's Jam ...

Colin: I had a little hunch. You could use a little flow ...
Roger: Tutoring again??????????
Colin: Negative.
Mark: Back at NYU???
Colin: No-no-no! I rewired the ATM - at the Food Emporium - to provide and honorarium - to anyone with the code. :-)
Mark and Roger: The cooooooooooode?! ... well -- ?
Colin: A-N-G-E-L

I didn't understand this little song from Rent when I heard it the first time either, but Lord knows it is simply jam! Owww!!! But HOWEVER, I must finally address the fact that I have found myself in a predominantly Buddhist country.

In fact, I went down a few days ago to talk to the Vietnamese Buddah-Monk that lives downtown ... Reverend Smith? Hello ...

He took me on a tour of the temple, and we passed by this old Japanese woman that was squatted over a big old catbox and she was just rakin!!! Yes! And I said, "Honey, you'll have to put some seeds in there or your roses will never grow!" hmm ... I didn't know what a Zen Garden was!

So I asked this old monk, I said, "Are you saved?!" And he says, "Well, I'm workin on it." You know how they talk ... He says, "THE BUDDAH HAS THE FOUR-FOLD NOBLE PATH OF TRUTH, AND EIGHT WAYS TO IT!" Child ... I said, "Wait a minute, let me get a pen!"

Anyway, me and that monk -- and he was the cutest little thing! smelled like sandalwood -- we went out and sat under a tree and crossed our legs and touched our thumbs to our pointer fingers and said, "Oooh manihaiiiii no hooooooo..."

You have to admit it though, they do make excellent-EXCELLENT eggrolls ... I don't have any incense, though. Will Febreze do???
