Let me first say, everytime I go to church, I feel like I need a cigarette. Child, it just makes me so nervous! And I don't even smoke, for real.
I just went today to the most amazing place. It's called the Holy Roman Catholic Church. The one I went to was St. Cici Francentine, or something like that. You know, I really enjoyed the Catholic Church, though; it made a lot of sense. It had a lot of flow to it, and I like that. I like the little songs they sang and whatnot. And the priest/pastor didn't go into for all that long. I even knew most of the parts, but part of it did kinda catch me off guard. I looked around one time and everybody was just beating their chests. I'm like, "OMG, They've got birdflu!" I mean, I really did panic like that.
I'll never understand why they went back to that holding of hands in church, though. Even the Catholic Church does it, yes. Oh my, I feel like I should bring germicidal lotion everytime I go to church, you just don't know what them people will have!
After the service was over, of course, I went over and talked to the priest. I said, "You know, this was a fascinating experience. I really enjoyed yalls church." I said, "When did it all start?" He said, "It started the moment the Lord Jesus gave his life up!" I'm like, "OMG, I just saw that movie!"
Oh my Lord!
I said, "Yall are older than First Baptist downtown?" He said, "Oh, I must assure you about all that, honey." I asked this one lady, I said, "When are yall open, just on certain Sundays or on every Sunday of the month?" She said, "Honey, we're open 7 days of the week, sometimes 24 hours of the day." I'm like, "I've never heard of such a thing! That's like WalMart."
The very first thing I noticed, of course, was the massive amount of squatting required. I'll tell you what, by the time we got up after mass and squatted back down, my knees popped so loud, a old lady 3 pews over just looked at me and just rolled her eyes. Now isn't that just a hateful thing to do?
I was just so happy they had a gift shop at the Catholic Church. I really liked that. I bought all kinds of things. Some of it was free brochures, and Lord, I bought some beautiful jewelery: some jade rosebeads or something you count on. And just all different kinds of things for your home. Honey, candles! They had more things there than at a Avon convention. I was really happy about that.
I would DEFINITELY go back to the Catholic Church. I enjoyed that more than half the shows I saw in Reno. They do put on a good thing. They make you listen, but just when you get comfortably seated, it's time to stand up, sit down, go here, do this, do that ... Lord, it's like Sunday morning arobics.
