Guys.. I'm on overload. Too much studying.. I've been studying half of the day. Homework is crazy! Anyway.. Something I have studied today is from my Spiritual Formations class. The main part of this class is from the great commandment, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." The class mainly studies the "all your mind" part. It's pretty interesting, but we usually view the heart more important than the mind, but, in all actuality, the mind is what needs to be sharpened. One of our books, Love Your God with All Your Mind" states that "God is certainly not a cultural elitest, and He does not love intellectuals more than anyone else. But it needs to be said in the same breath that ignorance is not a Christian virtue if those virtues mirror the perfection of God's own character." In other words, our studies of the Scripture and of God's character should be diligent. We should seek to be very "intellectual" in the ways of God. We should seek to know him more than just saying that I have faith in Him. Why say you have faith when you have no reason to base your faith on? Why do you believe that Christ is the Messiah? Why do you believe that there is a God? Why do you believe that Christianity is the only way to God? There are intelligent answers besides saying, "because I have faith!" There are facts. See and look for those intelligent facts. Then you will be worshipping God with all your mind!
