This has been the year of my life with the most changes, for sure.

This time last year marked my twelfth year in Australia. Next June will mark my first year back in America.

Obviously the move was the biggest thing I've probably ever done in my life so far. I actually never thought it would be possible for me to go home, it all just seemed like

Ok omg.

Brokeback for me... I think it's so "omg" for me because that's basically my perfect movie: it's angsty and beautiful and the fact that their love is so achievable but it's so forbidden at the same time and, yeah. Love it. And Jake and Heath were fabulous in it.

I love Once so much, mainly because it's one of the only films I've ever seen where the characters are actually realistic: they have flaws and actual plausible good points, haha. I think the mixed feelings I have about it are mainly because I haven't seen it enough. I'm getting it on DVD soon and will be able to watch it more. But I agree, Glen and Marketa are an awesome duo. I love them. <3

I need to watch the LOTR movies again, omg. I absolutely loved the cast in particular. David Wenham was the PERFECT Faramir (my favorite character <3) and the scenery and the ending and omg. Just perfect. <3

lol I just realised I typed "You Got Mail". FML, that's an annoying error for my pedantic nature. I've only seen bits of When Harry Met Sally - never sat down and watched it. I'll have to check it out.

I think maybe my 'problem' with Brokeback is that it's almost too believable. I'd rather pretend people couldn't do that to each other and themselves. :/

Oh yeah, I could gush about the LotR cast forever. It was uncanny how good it was, and I thought every single actor was perfect for their role. Even the much-maligned Liv Tyler. (I too love Faramir, but Samwise will always be my One True Love. Forever. In any fandom, including real life.)

It took me two days because I wrote it out once on LJ, then when I posted it, everything inside the cut was deleted and I couldn't get it back. I re-wrote the whole thing yesterday. I don't even know, dude. "Holyfuck!" is appropriate, though, yeah.

Merlin is my new obsession, omg. My mom and I watched the last three episodes of the first season last night around midnight. It was around the time Merlin was killing Nimueh when the clock struck 12. So that was awesome.

You must get sick of hearing me be all negative about Australia. I honestly try not to be, because I didn't hate it at all, it's just that the homesickness overweighed everything else. Basically I was born in the US to an American mom and an Australian dad, then when I was one we went to live in Australia because all his family was there. Basically the marriage went really downhill and it took her a long time to leave him (like, 14 years, so), but she did and here we are. Pretty much.

nah, it doesnt bother me really. I'm not one of those crazies that are all "OMG HOW DARE YOU BAG OUT THE CHUNK OF ROCK I LIVE ON?!!!". Keep in mind that I plan to bugger off from this silly country as well in the (hopefully) near future. Sucks that you did have a not so nice experience of it, and I can see how an asshole can really sour your opinion of a place. I dont blame you at all.

what an awesome post and such a good idea on how to document a year. i might steal this because i don't feel like i remember anything about 2009 at all :( especially the songs! learning to be a good student was one of the big lessons i learned (too late) in 2009, too. such an important thing. also, YOU'VE GOT MAIL IS SUCH A GOOD MOVIE TOM HANKS IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE

whoaaaa hey there i'm adoring your layout! also i do stuff like that all the time, especially at school. i once was typing up a project for spanish in grade ten that was due an hour later and the computer crashed and i hadn't saved. it was awful :'( i think i will steal it for 2010!!
ME TOO we can share though :) okay?! i'm so excited for toy story 3 to come out. he's still doing the voice acting for woody and when the preview came on at the theater the other day i just about cried with excitement.
