At some point after her conversation with a butterfree, after running away from Golduck, Blacky found herself wandering by a Pokemon Centre. It wasn't just any Pokemon Centre, but the very one she was born at. She must have run all the way to Viridian City.
And who should be sitting outside it but her first love, looking the same as he did on the day he abandoned her. This wasn't the same apparition that had been following her and whispering cruel things into her ear. This one... Maybe this one still loved her. She had to try.
Oh, that's right. Of course his younger self wouldn't recognize her. "I... It's me, Umbreon. I know I look a little older, but I-- It's still me!" She took one of his hands and squeezed it desperately.
"I'm sorry I hurt you. I'll never use that move again, I just... I... I don't need to finish high school. I hate that place. Just let me stay here with you. Let me keep being your Pokemon. Please!"
...Well, there were so many things wrong with the current situation, but there was a particular something that stood out above the rest: he didn't remember her. Why? Did he hit his head? Did he choose to forget her? ...That was probably most likely.
"I..."
She didn't know what to do. How to prove that she was who she said she was. Her shoulders drooped and she let her arms hang limply at her sides. If she had no trainer, then... she was completely lost.
By this point she would have loved the vision of the present-day Tobias to show up again. He at least knew who she was.
Claus didn't like Blacky. She was manipulative, rude, and possibly entirely evil.
But... something was wrong. She wasn't on the same level as him. She was trapped somewhere. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he devoted himself to being calm.
Nah, only 98% evil. Her tripping out self fell into the other 2%.
"Then why?" She let out a short, barking laugh. "Why'd you leave me?! Why'd you forget about me? I... I love you. So much. You don't even care. You went and married that wretch and you don't even care about how she acts whenever I come visit."
Ok, it was time to review the facts. Claus knew Blacky was a Pokemon, a little black and yellow fox thing called and Umbreon. A Dark type. She writes about going home every once and a while. She called him Master. So... her trainer? He knew nothing about her trainer, but apparently, she really didn't like his wife.
"I'm, uh... I'm sorry?"
He knew he couldn't probe into her mind, with her nature and with the state it was in. He searched her eyes, regardless.
"I didn't forget about you." I mean, if she still went to visit...
What? That didn't make sense. If he still remembered her, why did he give off the impression that he didn't before?
She didn't even care anymore. If he said he didn't, he didn't. She wanted to believe that. She wanted to go home with him, with this version that was neither married nor cold. "...I'm tired, Master. Just take me home. With you, and with Raticate, and with my son, and even your children. Even she can be there, just... Let's... I'm so tired. Of everything."
Blacky, who seemed to have no regard for the relationship between his Father, Lucas, and himself, had a son of her own. Too many questions raced through his head, namely who was the father, and where is he, but he tried not to let the shock show on his face, and nodded at her instead.
"Sure. Do you... do you want to take a nap, or something?"
A nap. That sounded... That sounded wonderful. She could just sleep forever. She nodded with a quiet whimper and decided to just lay her head down right in her trainer's lap.
Under normal circumstances, Claus thought this would probably be a PK worthy offense. But... he supposed there was no harm in letting her remain as long as she was in this state. He slowly put his hands down on either side of his lap, unsure of what to do with them.

He stared at her, completely at a loss. "... Huh?"

"It's because I wasn't strong enough."

"Wasn't strong enough for what?"

And then she broke down into tears because she didn't know what else to do.
