Yay! Cody was like "We need a special celebration, like DQ treats!" I was like "Uh, I'm a preggo. Ice cream is the only pleasure I have left at my disposal. It goes without saying we're going to DQ!"

i like so good ice cream. i just bought some butterscotch ripple today. it's very very close to the dairy experience, without all of the cruelty & a lot less fat.

I haven't had soy ice cream. I used to live on so good drinks in early pregnancy because I needed the calcium but regular milk was not thick enough to coat my stomach which was always heart-burny. Soy saved my life in those days! Now organic milk is good enough for me.

soy ice cream roxors. so does soy yogurt, except the so good stuff is too sweet. i want to experiment with using plain soy yogurt to make my own soy yogurt that i can add berries to. mmmm berries. :) - we're making vegan pizza. it's wicked.

I imagine all this kind of food would be good--the trick would be eating it fresh. Once we tried vegan muffins from the grocery store and they immediately went rotten, and that was after a day of being extremely dry. I guess if you made them yourself it would help.

yeah, i've learned to do a lot of stuff myself because i'm unsatisfied with a lot of store food.

Even we're unsatisfied with a lot of pre-fabbed store stuff, and we don't have any special dietary requirements. It's a lot less hassle, so to speak, to make things yourself.

Cody went out and got the most badassed stand mixer on the market a couple weeks ago, and that makes cookie batter sooooo much easier and faster than I could do by hand.

oh yeah. one of my room mates is a sous-chef who loves cooking, so we have lots of great appliances & cookware. he's got a crazy cuisinart mixer with weird paddles & stuff.

Yes, we have the 1000 watt Cuisinart stand mixer. It has 3 extra outlets on it for accessories like a pasta maker and food processor! ha!

Yes, there is a meat grinding attachment available for ours too. I don't think we'd ever use it, but I definitely want the pasta and food processor attachments!

oh yeah, making your own pasta would be wicked.

You know what pasta is really good and you don't need a pasta maker? Gnocchi. Oh, but it has egg. :(
