Thanksgiving came again this year. Things went well. I've enjoyed being home for a few days (minus a little trip back to Lowell to do a ridiculously short parade). It rained, and the various local channels were predicting dismal amounts of rain, so I decided not to go to the football game. I got to sleep in. Thanksgiving dinner itself was good. Sure, there were a few odd moments, like the fact that the turkey was cooked elsewhere due to some issues at the stove at my aunt and uncle's. Still, it was good to see relatives.
I got to make apple pies and tomorrow I'm getting ready to make some pulla to bring back with me. :-)
I'm going to be a little frantic for Monday. I have to fill out the outline for a take-home exam that I was given last Monday and do up the PowerPoint for a presentation I'm doing on Monday. It's a little crazy, but I'll get them done.
My family put up a tree this weekend and we decorated it. It's covered in a few layers of lights, years worth of ornaments, and a lot of tinsel. Apparently we are a little tinsel compulsive.
I'm very excited for Christmas: Advent, the music, special foods, nativity scenes, decorations. Nice. So far, I've watched a few Christmas movies. I think the worst so far has to be the one about an oil drilling company head visited by an elf because they're afraid he's going to blow up the North Pole. Er...it was very 1980s-ish and very odd. Oh, well. I guess there are a few duds out there.
