I didn't even want to get out of bed this morning. It's hard since I don't have anything scheduled today until 1, so I would love to be able to sleep in indefinitely. I'm trying to make myself wake up at 8 AM every day so if I do have to wake up early it won't be such a big thing. Plus, I don't want to waste my day.
My weekend was pretty calm. I slept in until 11 on Saturday--I usually have a hard time doing that here in Lowell. Somehow I just kept sleeping. So, I did homework that day and then watched "The Hunt for Red October" with Tamara. She's probably the only other person here in the suite who would ever watch that movie with me, so it's was cool. I have the most ridiculous taste in movies. Sunday, I went to church, to lunch, and then off to do more homework.
My classes are going well. I've had some really interesting dialogue of late. To start off, there was that lovely discussion at dinner about bologna.
Emma: "Why do we have that expression, 'You're full of bologna?'"
Me: "Consider what bologna is..."
Ester:" The leftovers of pigs."
[10 second pause to contemplate, then hysterical laughing.]
Me: "Thank you for putting that so delicately."
Last night, Sarah B. popped in to say hello as I was finishing up Richard II, by Shakespeare. I told her I wanted to see who died and then I would go up to have cake for Wilmary. So, I get through the book and get up to their suite. Wilmi, Sarah W. and company are there. I greet people and then sit down. Sarah B. looks up.
"So, Mia, who died?"
"Richard. I knew it!"
Poor Sarah W. looked immediately petrified: "Who died?"
Sarah B. explained, "Richard--he was jerk. He killed off two people to get his throne."
She still looked baffled, so we had to explain that it was a play and not us being crass about someone's death.
I don't really have any homework today except working on my dot book for marching band. Apparently writing in our coordinates is not enough. We have to actually put little pictures in there, so I have to do that today...maybe in front of the TV to pass the time. Band wasn't that bad last night, for the curious. We have the first song down decently. The second song, on the other hand, is bad. We totally blew playing it from memory and we don't know our drill. Ironically enough, we'll probably nail that third song even though it's in five. At the rate that we're going, we're prolly going to have the first and second done by the 23rd, our first field show. It would be awesome to have the third.
The flowers that we planted over the leadership retreat weekend are sprouting. Ester and I are very excited to see them growing. I can't wait to see how they'll look.
