there is a russian woman
who goes to my school that is extremely beautiful. She is always very dressed up and flirting with boys near the library. Often times I will see her sitting on the stairs leading up to the library and staring at girls very critically as they walk up the steps. At first I was angry with her. I thought that she was being cheezy and vapid by commenting on everyones outfit and staring people down. I still think that it is innapropriate, but maybe she is just interested in what other people are doing with themselves. Maybe, just maybe when people stare you down and you think they are being critical and nasty, they are just interested in what you are doing and wearing and how you are walking. I think of her as the gatekeeper to a land that I am not interested in travelling to anyway. There are other women that she sits on the stairs with. She is wanting to be noticed there. Recognized for her beauty and fashion. Payed attention to. That is what she wants to be recognized for. Whereas I would like to be noticed for my art and wit and ideas. That does not mean she is any less of a well rounded human, I just hope she has other interests.
