todokanai Fact of life #1: Yukimura completely dominates at tennis, and sucks at every other game.
"Rock beats paper," Yukimura says triumphantly, shooting Renji a cheeky grin. "I win."
Renji frowns ever-so-slightly; he's playing along. "No, it doesn't," he replies calmly. "Only scissors beat paper. Rock is weak against it."
"Is not," Yukimura protests, even though he knows it is. Sanada puts his regulars' jersey inside his locker and glances at Renji, whose attempts at appearing unamused are failing catastrophically.
"Is too," Renji replies. "Paper covers rock. It's my win."
Still Yukimura persists. "It's raining outside," he points out. "If it rains, paper gets soaked through and ruined, while rock isn't affected. Rock is clearly stronger."
Renji's lip twitches. "Rain," he says, zipping up his bag, "does not factor into Jyanken. It's your treat today, Seiichi."
"Huh," Yukimura grumbles, just like he does everyday, and sticks out his tongue at Renji when he thinks the latter isn't looking. Which of course he is, because he always is, somehow.
Sanada watches Yukimura's little frown as he takes his chemistry book out of his tennis bag to make room for his game racket. Then Renji says something about one of the showers not being properly closed and shares an amused look with Sanada before going to check. Sanada can see Yukimura watch Renji out of the corner of his eye, and tries not to laugh. He knows what Yukimura is going to say next, but Sanada adjusts his cap and pretends that he doesn't.
Just like every other day, Yukimura waits for Renji to be out of earshot before turning towards Sanada.
"Sanada," Yukimura says. He's laughing, too. "Do you think you could lend me some money?"
