More movie recommendations
My short Netflix usage ended yesterday as I prepare to head back to India.
And it ended with one of the best movies I've seen. Ever. No, I really mean EVER.
The Barbarian Invasions (or Les Invasions Barbares in french) is a movie about life and lives seen from the perspective of death. Twice I've tried to write a miniature review here and twice I've erased the lines. My descriptions don't seem to do justice. The Barbarian Invasions is singularly the most stirring movie I've seen. You can't miss this.
This has been a great week for movies. I also saw Volver, Almodovar's latest. Again, this movie goes high up in my film ratings. Penelope Cruz (she's looking more ravishing here than in any of her previous films), a lot of colour, some noir and great music make up this very entertaining story.
