My weekend in Houghton was amazing. On Thursday, I had a meeting with the biochemistry advisor that lasted over an hour. He helped me pick classes for next semester and for my first semester at MTU. Walking around the campus was interesting to say the least. Guys were checking me out the entire time; it was bizzare to say the least. According to some, I am one of the hottest girls within a hundred miles of there, so I'd better get used to it. Friday's series of events can only be described as "after school special". Saturday, Jon took me up to Brockway (1337) Mountain. The first time I went up there with him was one of the most beautiful sights I've ever witnessed. This mountain overlooks Lake Superior and you can see trees for miles around it. Being that it is mid-October, the colors were at their peak up there. The contrast between the vivid oranges, reds, and yellows of the trees and the deep, crisp blue of the lake was breathtaking. We then drove up to Copper Harbor so he could show me the road sign that says "Miami, FL, 1990 miles." Sunday morning, I went to brunch with Jon and this guy Bob that I have known since middle school. It was great talking to him again. I got back to Mt. P. around 830, so I made pretty good time. I'm not gonna lie, I'm beyond excited to see Jon again next week. After spending the weekend with him, I was reaffirmed as to why I am putting myself through the hell of a long-distance relationship. It can simply be stated as he is the most amazing person I have ever known. I love everything about him, and I love the person I am when I am with him. He gives me the motivation to live life to the fullest and be the best I can at everything that I do. The moment he entered my life, the sky got brighter and I finally allowed myself to be genuinely happy and to trust completely another person. Wow, that was sappy. I'm done.
