We have kitty lift off. I took a day off as yesterday we swapped Tabitha into Goosa's (our) bedroom and goosa into tabitha's. Let me tell you neither was happy about being the other's room. We had to you see, because it became clear Goosa was happy to have tabitha forever stay in one room. It was simple, it was never his room, so she can have it, but he'll have the whole rest of the house. Um..no.
So we did that and well, it was--lots of meowing from both. We also swapped cat boxes, and well, they both used each others...and today I tried the cat treats...goosa doesn't get treated. He only gets cat treats when I clip his claws, so he does ANYTHING I tell him when I have treats. This includes a new cat. I gathered tabitha up into a cat carrier and let me tell you, she has a tiny little meow that'll break your heart and she did the whole "no not again I just got here." Well since I just took her across the hallway and she calmed down. So I treated goosa while he was being calm with her in the room, then I opened the carrier and she came out (gladly) and goosa remained calm. I treated him, petted him, heaped him with attention and told him he was the best kitty ever. Goosa if you hadn't noticed likes to be heaped with attention, plus the treats, he'd be ok in a hurricane. So they sniffed each other and well, that's that for cats. He's been around her since and no hissing.
We're going to keep them apart during the day and do the same introduction each day--treats and attention on goosa. We should be totally fine. Now we can work on Tabitha--she's wonderful, but is a little shy with new things, noises, doors, hallways...the hallway is a big hurtle. I'm not surprised its still not something goosa likes.
