Two nights ago (Monday night), I think I got about three hours of sleep, mostly between about 7 and 10 AM; I'm not sure what the hell caused it, but I know it sucked. >.< And yet yesterday I was surprisingly functional! Not amazingly focused or on point or anything, but not significantly less so than usual.
My body made up for it last "night"--I went to bed around my usual time (2 or so), woke up with my 10:15 alarm this morning...and fell back to sleep, not actually regaining consciousness and getting out of bed until 2:30 PM. o_o I think that means I was out of bed for nearly two hours before it started getting dark, but it was a bit hard to tell with the bleak/rainy weather.
I've heard murmurings that this might be an awful winter, weather-wise. Last winter was on the mild side; the winter before we had snow and snowstorms again and again until the snow at the end of the driveway was taller than
scruloose's 6'2". The dubiously-good news is that we have a snowblower now, acquired in February of that nasty ALL THE SNOW winter. (The snowblower still totally justified its purchase by the end of that season.)
Tomorrow I need to bake something for the holiday party at Casual Job on Friday--Friday, the day with a forecast high of -11°C (12°F). Just the day when a hermit like me wants to have to leave the house. ("Have to" isn't accurate, of course; it's a get-together at the office, not an actual obligation. But our co-worders are so great. ^_^ It'll be my last chance to see most of them until the spring session, whenever that happens. But oh, the weather.)
This post brought to you by the fact that it's just past 2 AM and I figured I'd offer proof of life since I clearly wasn't getting any writing done before I head to bed.
