Weekly reading (02/12/16)

Feb 13, 2016 00:02

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished rereading Deadline tonight (so that took a week--noticeably less time than the Feed reread, as I suspected) I did not wind up starting another novel alongside it, so that experiment remains untested unless/until I try to read something else alongside Blackout.

The combination of Goodreads/my memory leads me to think I hadn't properly reread the whole book since 2012.

As I just said on Twitter, I'm now seriously tempted to make a post listing all the things in Deadline that I'm just not over yet. Turns out I still have a literal physical reaction to a thing that happens in the middle. O_O (The things on that list bear no relation to the many things I bookmarked as details relevant to fic ideas I haven't written/finished yet.)

We'll see how I feel about the "making a list" idea tomorrow. I may be okay, since I spent the evening periodically messaging
megsaysthings to tell her what was happening in the book, which devolved into ALL CAPS FLAIL/SHRIEK/SOB/FEELS BY THE BUCKET at her by the time I stopped. (Please note that Meg actively encourages this behavior.)

(If anyone happens to want to flail about Deadline with me, please hold off on mentioning plot points in comments on this post--but feel free to indicate that you're so inclined, because it'll pretty much guarantee that I'll post separately about it!)

What are you currently reading?

I bought Carrie Fisher's Shockaholic a few weeks ago (?) when the ebook was on sale, and have started reading it on my phone when I have a few minutes here and there. I think I'm at a bit of a disadvantage, not having read her other book(s) and not knowing much at all about her life, but her style is a quick read.

What do you think you'll read next?

I keep thinking I might read something new before heading into my Blackout reread, but I enjoyed the Deadline reread so much that I'm not sure how likely I am to put Blackout off.
