I haven't had time to read many of your links, but I read the one about Heidi and cheese. I loved the book when I was a little girl, and I think I might like to re-read it, because oddly enough, I don't remember much about it; but I remembered every one of the quotes about cheese! I was an odd child a child with a lot of imagination, and I used to play that I was the characters in books I read, and I liked nothing better than to make bread and butter with a slice of cheese on top, and take it outdoors in our yard, which had a hill, and pretend I was Heidi, eating outdoors in the Alps. ;)

I haven't read Heidi since I was was very small either (I think it's literally the first book I remember reading), but the food imagery has lingered for me too. ^_^
