The BPAL Hallowe'en update is live!

Sep 27, 2014 00:37

Oof. My workday was not long by any standards--I was in the office for six hours, all told--but given that it was the first Friday of this round of Casual Job, we sort of all figured that Those Who Speak would do so for...I don't know, maybe an hour? But no, it was three and a half hours of audio. Not at all bad in its own right (and if the days averaged only six hours of work my wallet would be unhappy!), but it could be an alarming indicator of what's to come.

On the freelance front, I have a short story to proofread by Sunday for Sparkler Monthly, a rewrite due next Wednesday that's maybe 2/3 finished, and a rewrite due in just under two weeks that I haven't started yet.

Given that, I'd planned to do some freelance stuff this afternoon/evening, but then I got home later than expected due to Casual Job, and once home, I watched the Person of Interest S4 premiere with
scruloose while I had dinner, and then...fell asleep on the couch soon after he left for yoga, and napped for well over an hour, leaving myself groggy and spacey when I woke up. *facepalm* What a weird day.
And then the BPAL Weenies went live! Weirdly, I found this out by opening my reading list and seeing the post for the decant circle I'm going through. Still no email, although the link has since gone by on Twitter.

In 2013 I got four Yule decants. Prior to that, I'm pretty sure the last time I got any imps was in 2011 (both the Hallowe'en and Yule updates).

...and I just ordered twelve imps from this update (plus one from the recent Lilith update). Oops? Or something?

I was hoping Dia De Los Muertos would make a reappearance, and no luck on that front, but both Devil's Night and Samhain are available. And there's a new Pumpkin Patch, and a whole whack of single notes.

First, from the Lilith update, I'm getting:

BLUEBERRY PICKING
Sun-warmed, slightly squishy blueberries plus overgrown grass, overgrown honeysuckle, overgrown lavender, overgrown lemon verbena, and a smattering of un-pulled weeds.

And as for the Weenies, I'm getting:

AUTUMN CIDER (a repeat for me; I tried my 2011 imp early in my "wear all the Weenies!" project and loved it)
Fermented apple juice, brown sugar, spice, lemon zest, butterscotch liquor, and orange slices.

AUTUMN OVERLOOKED MY KNITTING
A warm scent, as delicate as lace and as soft as cashmere, and as cozy as wool, punctuated with red currant for the blazing red of cochineal and surrounded a border of soft grey ambergris and a swirl of autumn leaves.

BONFIRE (SINGLE NOTE)

DEVIL'S NIGHT (a repeat for me; hoping it has some of the magic that my 2009 imp seems to have lost with aging)
This is the scent of autumn night, fires in the distance, with a touch of boozy swoon, playful sugar and thuggish musk.

MAGNIFICENT AUTUMN
A scent that wanders through the Ages of Autumn, from the last green leaf to the first breath of winter.

PILE OF FALLEN LEAVES (SINGLE NOTE)

PUMPKIN I
Pumpkin cream with cardamom, black tea, allspice, and ginger milk.

PUMPKIN IV
Warm pumpkin with three honeys, oudh, sweet frankincense, and champaca resin.

PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING (SINGLE NOTE)

SAMHAIN (a repeat for me; my imps are from 2007 and 2008, and Samhain ages well, so I figure I should get another imp started)
Truly the scent of autumn itself - damp woods, fir needle, and black patchouli with the gentlest touches of warm pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, allspice, sweet red apple and mullein.

SONNET D'AUTOMNE
Tenebrous Love: a shivering white musk with vanilla-infused white cocoa, amber incense, and dead, dry leaves.

VISIONS OF AUTUMN III
Bourbon vanilla, aged patchouli, honey, and Ceylon cinnamon.
