Why must fic bingo cards be so tempting? I'm contemplating not one but two new ones. Have I ever gotten bingo on any of these? No. No, I have not.
I had notions about writing a Warehouse 13-related post for the "December" topic meme tonight (W13! I've been saving it!), but that got a bit derailed by Claudia getting sopping wet twice within half an hour.
scruloose often leaves the bathroom door open so the kittens can come in and hang out or explore when he's in the shower or bath. Tonight he was soaking after going out snowshoeing for a few hours (we had a blizzard!), and the kittens were in there, and suddenly, SPLOOSH went Claudia. She only got her back legs and a bit of belly wet, really, so she was mostly just annoyed that I was interfering with her explorations when I went in and toweled her off and used the blow dryer on her until she was only slightly damp and increasingly restless.
Not ten minutes after I settled back at my desk, our intrepid girl's renewed explorations were rudely interrupted when she was walking between the shower curtain and shower liner...and Jinksy, outside in the room, saw movement behind the curtain and pounced, shoving her into the tub again. This time she was soaked thoroughly from the middle down, other than part of her tail. Poor Claud. She was reasonably cooperative about going through the whole towel/blow dry process again, but she was not impressed.
I don't call her the Minister of Sad Noises for nothing.
Since I failed to come to any conclusions about watching a show from my to-watch list with
wildpear, now that we've finished S1 of Orphan Black, last night I opted to show her both the Elementary pilot and Fringe 1x11 (the first episode on
newredshoes' tried-and-true
"How to get hooked on Fringe in about ten hours" post). (I suspect she could get through most of the high-ick!-factor episodes in Fringe S1 if she already knew/loved the characters, but given how many of the S1 plot threads get tossed by the wayside when the show gets going, I think the list is a better way to go, at least at first.)
Verdict: she was interested in both, and we're likely going with Elementary first. JOAN. *sparkly hearts* Give how much I love Joan and Olivia, I would've been pleased if she'd been interested enough to follow up on one of the shows. Getting to maybe show her both is exciting. *^^*
For the record, I think before last night
wildpear's knowledge of Elementary was "Lucy Liu is Watson!" and her knowledge of Fringe was that the lead is properly referred to as OLIVIA FUCKING DUNHAM. I feel okay about this. *g* Glorious, badass women FTW!
