A secondhand question!
I was supposed to make this post a couple of weeks ago, so it's a bit vaguer than I'd like because the initial conversation was also a couple of weeks ago, but here goes!
Background: a friend of ours is looking for some good smut and/or steamy romance recs. Ordinarily I'd either go looking for or ask after fic recs in this case, because I think she'd be fine with fic based on source material she's not familiar with, as long as familiarity wasn't required for it to make sense, but she doesn't currently have regular internet access. (She's also not specifically fannish herself, but I'm turning to fandom because the thing I really like about fanworks is the way the emotions and relationships get focused on, and she likes that sort of dynamic in the things she reads, too.)
I'm largely in the dark about this, because most of the books I read are fantasy, but I figure the odds are good that some of you might be able to help.
So my very specific question is, does anyone have any recs for romance/erotica that's in print, not digital, that you either know to be written by someone with a fannish background or whose writing has a similar sort of feel? M/F or M/M are fine; she doesn't have a particular interest in F/F but is not opposed to giving it a shot. (I didn't actually check with her about kinks or squicks, but neither came up. Oops. I would guess that mild to moderate kink is probably fine, but maybe specify?)
Please help? I'll take her titles/info on anything any of you figure approximately fits those not-terribly-specific parameters, and the worst that can happen is not all of them sound like they'd appeal to her. Or I can text her questions for clarification.
