Things that don't actually help un-bork a sleep cycle: accidental four-hour nap in the middle of the day. >.< I'm not even sure what brought it on; I don't think I felt more tired than usual beforehand, even given that it was our turn to have Pumpkin here this morning. (A playdate that ends with all three of us in hammocks out back is nothing to be sneezed at, even if one were feeling so inclined.)
And my sense of time is all skewed in the grander scheme, which I think is because I spent so much of July at Casual Job instead of having the work there dry up by the end of June or so. Where is summer disappearing to?
But the good news is that, as I mentioned yesterday, it's peach season. Today the peaches are ready to eat, and they are so, so, so good. Tomorrow we'll turn a bunch of them and some blueberries Kas brought over into a crisp, I think.
A few links!
I forget who linked this, 'cause it's been open in a tab for a while:
a really sweet post about Robert Downey Jr. "I'm willing to go out on a limb here and guess that most stories of kindness do not begin with drug addicted celebrity bad boys. Mine does."
Via a Facebook friend:
The IRL Fetish. Nothing truly new, I don't think, but well presented.
And via
marina, a
post on the nature of fandom (which I had read before, although not for a long time, so I may also have linked it before).
