I haven't been maintaining radio silence, exactly, but the combination of moving and house guests and ongoing issues with my desktop computer system(s)* have given me very little time/energy for other things.
(Also, I owe a few people [non-work-related] emails, which I'll answer as soon as I have longer than ten minutes with a working system that has access to my files.)
Obligatory Tori linkspam:
the press release for her "seasonal" (Solstice/Christmas) album, Midwinter Graces, came out a few days ago. I'm still not sure what to make of this, but I'll certainly be picking it up.
In sadder (in the short term) music news, Tom McRae's new album is delayed and the associated European tour has been rescheduled. OTOH, the delay is because of a new music deal which he seems hopeful about, and I'm all in favor of him doing whatever's best for the music. It boggles my mind that so few people have heard of him on this side of the Atlantic.

In domestic TV news, we did see the Supernatural premiere, but haven't yet seen last week's episode (although I did see spoilers from the trailer for it, which was about half my own fault). And this week there are an alarming number of shows coming back. Castle entertains me (haven't seen last night's premiere!) and I'm sort of interested/morbidly curious about Dollhouse--I won't say "cautiously optimistic" yet--but mostly I'm excited because Criminal Minds is back tomorrow. My show! I was less happy with last season than I had been with S1-3, but I'm still really looking forward to it.
Meanwhile, I have an entry due for 30 Kisses by the end of the month, and I can't get another extension. Even if I had easy access to all of my files, there'd be no way I could finish the first of the two connected pieces I'm nominally working on, which leaves me exactly one theme I can try to write something from scratch for. It's a potentially interesting theme ("the space between dream and reality"), and I'd been kind of hoarding it, but it looks like its time is now. (Or I lose my claim.) But between continuing to settle in to our new place and the fact that my casual job has started back up (and I'm hoping to get an adaptation assignment sometime soon *fingers crossed*), I have no idea how likely it is to work out. :/ I'd really like to finish, though, since I've only got three themes left and have been working on this for something like four and a half years.
...wow, typing that last sentence was a little scary. O_O
*I don't think anyone's keeping score, but for the time being "Mogeta" is my office/primary computer...assuming that
scruloose's theory about it just needing a new power supply is right and we can get it up and running. Vash, my computer of six years, had a catastrophic bios failure recently. Alas.
