AnimeVice
has the new Trigun move trailer that was shown at AX. Trigun! *^^* Now that it's come up again I remember hearing that there was going to be a movie, but I'd forgotten, so it's like exciting new news all over again!
None of the other news that came out of AX really caught my attention, although I enjoyed reading the updates from several of the manga bloggers who hang out on Twitter. Viz's upcoming push on the One Piece manga is a little mind-boggling; it's amazing enough that they pulled it off with Naruto, but my (vague) impression of the One Piece fandom is that it's devout but noticeably smaller. (
seangaffney? Y/N?) It sounds like a lot of the panels were really good, though.
[ETA:
Lori Henderson has a post about the One Piece speed-up at Manga Xanadu.]

Random rewatch: last night we showed
bosonator the Sarah Connor Chronicles pilot. He watches very little TV of any kind, having approximately 50 hobbies, but he loves Firefly and we sold him on the Summer Glau angle.
Wow, it was strange seeing it again after seeing the whole show. The way Summer plays Cameron at the very beginning is disconcerting, despite having read plenty of theories and analysis about the difference (which in practical terms may come down to it being a pilot and none of the actors having quite settled in yet, but it's much more fun to not assume that's it).
I don't know if he'll keep up with it, but he seemed to like it, and it was a good excuse to peel the shrinkwrap off our boxset.
