Star Trek and whatnot
I don't know why I have such trouble finding icons I really like for live-action shows*. Anime or manga, no problem. Maybe people use different effects? Or maybe I've been spoiled by having had so many icon-makers in the Fruits Basket fandom whose work I really like. All I can say for sure is that I'm up too late** looking for Star Trek iconage.
I'm also still reading ST fanfic when people link to it, and...I still can't remember the last time I read so much fic, even though I'm not reading a lot in the grand scheme. I've never so much as glanced at any part of ST fandom before, despite having grown up on TOS and TNG. (Dabbled in DS9, watched about seven eps. of Voyager, never saw Enterprise.)
*Criminal Minds seems to be the exception. And speaking of CM, having spent my entire first viewing (of two) of the ST movie wondering why Chekov was creeping me out a little, I have to say I kind of want an icon of Anton Yelchin as Chekov that says something like "didn't grow up to be a serial killer".
**Tomorrow's a day off, thankfully, since I did a full spot-check on my current rewrite and am going to let it rest for a day or two before I do my final read.
