PopCultureShock has Tokyopop's shipping list for January-August 2009. As noted there, Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, Dragon Voice, and Pet Shop of Horrors: Tokyo have all reappeared after being presumed gone. (Suppli hasn't. ;_;) Some release dates have been drastically changed, though--D.N.Angel 12 was originally showing as a January/February release on Amazon, and is now listing for June.
(I also have NO idea how the "vol. x (of x)" listings work. Does anyone know? They always seem accurate for series that have finished in Japan--yes, Phantom Dream is five volumes and Demon Sacred is eleven--but if D.N.Angel ended at vol. 13 I suspect the Twins would have mentioned it [unless it was under the spoiler cut I didn't click on], and having already adapted vol. 17 of Sgt. Frog, I'm really quite sure it doesn't stop there. I remember that advance listings for Fruits Basket used to say "vol. x [of 14]" for a while, too. All I can think is that the second number is how many volumes are actually available in Japan, whether or not the series is ongoing, but Shinobi Life is listed as "of 4", and I thought there were six volumes out in Japan...)
2. Mark Verheiden (writer/executive producer on Battlestar Galactica)
says that Caprica, the BSG prequel, has had 20 episodes ordered for 2010.
3. Tori Amos has
signed with Universal Republic Records for next year's (!) album (the link has a bit of information about the project, as well as the usual PR window dressing). Unless I hear otherwise, I'm going to figure she made a very good deal, since she's a much savvier businesswoman than one would think from the image she presents in interviews, and since she was so vocal about being happy about not being shackled to a label.
