Linkblogging (mainly but not entirely for the spec-fic readers)

I have all kinds of open tabs and did a bad job of keeping track of where I saw the links originally, so bear with the lack of attribution. >.>

Security: acari posts tips and how-tos for keeping your LJ account from being hacked. (Apparently people who registered for LJ with now-defunct Hotmail accounts are at the highest risk, but it never hurts to be careful.)

Jake Forbes (current rewriter on Fullmetal Alchemist, former editor on Fruits Basket, and general figure of awesomeness in the domestic manga industry) talks about FMA and working on it in his newest blog post.

And finally, author Jo Walton posted to Tor.com about the evolution of swearing and its inclusion in speculative fiction, and discusses whether this reflects a change in spec-fic specifically or in society at large. A good read, and she also links to the Mighty God King's first post with doctored spec-fic covers (featuring such things as Mercedes Lackey's My Little Pony Goes to War in part two. [The third part is here.]). The doctoring is beautifully done, and there's some lively debate in comments, esp. on the first post.
