A meandering sort of post

Suddenly I'm between rewrites, and while I have a couple of things coming up soon, I feel all fidgety about not working. I spent so much time traveling recently that I really want to be doing something productive now. I'm trying to catch up on my backlog of review copies for MangaLife, but it's not the same as working. (And yet it's not like getting away from work, either.)

I also have a 30_kisses entry due by the end of the month, and as I suspected when I had to get the extension a month and a half ago, I haven't wound up sitting back down with the then-almost-finished story and actually getting it done. (Again, traveling, but I really don't work well without external deadlines.)

Today there was other busyness, though, so now my brain's a bit too mulchy to be up for writing. Instead I swung by cleolinda and read a bit about the latest pre-movie Twilight insanity, and then was gratefully sidetracked by a link to this article: News Flash: Heroes Was Always Bad. So true. It's just it used to be enjoyable in spite of its badness, and then it stopped being fun, and then (for us) it was "bye bye, show!"

Interesting quote, though: "...the revelation that the show's writers were assigned separate plotlines in each episode instead of writing full scripts on their own is only partially to blame for the show's whiplashing segues." That? That explains a LOT.

Still behind on several of our shows, but only by an episode or two each. And apparently Life has had a full-season order, which makes me happy.
