I'm not missing the irony that I don't have anything geeky to post about because I'm spending all my time doing geeky work. La! Productivity ranges from rewriting about a third of a book over the weekend to only getting one page done tonight, but so it goes. I'm learning some new things this time around, some of which can be applied to anything I do from here on, so that's pretty cool.

Here's a bit of a link circle about Fruits Basket vol. 17: Adam hasn't posted about the overall volume yet, but he did
post briefly about one point, which happened to be the same one that took up rather a lot of my post on the book. (Since I'm mentioning this now, I'd like to note that I later felt like I shouldn't have grumbled about that detail without pointing out that I was aware of the translators' reasoning on that choice. They do really excellent work, and that wasn't a decision they made casually.) A couple of days later, he
posted links to a few other posts on the volume (mine, Flamika's, and Merrow's), and linked back to the
comment on my post where Alethea and Athena briefly reiterated their point of view on the issue.

Otherwise, I've watched a few more episodes of Supernatural, and it's...strangely endearing. I think we've seen up to episode seven now, and so far they tend to have not-terribly-exciting plots (although they do creepy well ^^) and very erratic guest actors (scoring Amy Acker for the third or fourth episode was impressive, although they didn't exactly tap her full range; meanwhile, the guest on the last ep. we saw was so wooden that Chris and I both cringed on every second line or so). But I'm developing serious soft spots for both of the leads, who're really pretty good. And I bounce whenever I see names in the credits that I recognize from The X-Files (which, heaven knows, was plenty shaky in its first and sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth season).
