reconstruction
Last night when I finally went to bed, I wasn't remotely tired. This resulted in rambling at Chris for a good half hour (poor husband!), and I was in kind of a geeky mood and indulging it, because it's been a while since I've felt that way. And he's cute when he humors me on this front.
[paraphrasing heavily]
C: "Character in charge of sexiness", huh? [While pimping Furuba to a friend, I'd mentioned that Takaya said that about Rin.]
Me: Every once in a while I still find myself thinking of her as badass, which is just funny.
C: *snorts*
Me: But she's fierce!
C: She's like a kitten trying really hard to be fierce. "Rawr!" ("Aww, she's so cute.") "No, fear me! RAWRRR!" [mimes claws] ("Awwww, I just want to cuddle her.")
Me: *cries*
. . . bear in mind he's never actually *read* Furuba, just seen the anime/read some of my fanfic/listened to me be addicted for over two years. So his interpretation of her is pretty much all my fault. Le sigh.
And then X came up, 'cause I asked him what he thought of the fic he read for me, but I can't reconstruct it at all. Something about how I don't actually mind Subaru when I'm watching/reading the series, only when I'm talking about it or dabbling in the fandom. "Subaru's really not too bad in the series itself, other than the eyeball thing and the part where he's not dead", I think. (Not that I want him dead, but there's no justification for him to *not* be dead. I say again: after that long, either get over it or kill yourself. [Please note that this advice applies solely to fictional people.])
