Misses Pontellier awakes and wades into the sea.
How very strange an ending, and so unsatisfactory.
She goes through all of the trouble and the drama and for what?
An unraveling string, or maybe fuse, but too abruptly cut.

I will not wade out there, no sir
The sea is just to swim
I hope that Edna's gone alone,
I'll be no sad pearl-gem.

My eyes are slowing opening, but to the surface I will fight.
I'll yell and scream 'til all in red will wake to my just plight.
And an Admiral will see me there
He'll recognize himself.
"Oh! It is me before I sank,
To that sub-level shelf!"
