recent events
Haven't posted in a while and need an excuse to avoid revising my proposal, so here's what's new in my life.
My Go Cross Campus team got 3rd in the Florida Championship. It's a Risk-type web game. It was fun while it lasted. It's nice how you can spend whatever amount of time you want on it. So days I was busy, I could just log in and place my armies, days I wasn't I could fool around on the chat, suggest strategy to our commanders, etc (not too many of those days). UF won. Bummer.
Brian's insane travel schedule might actually work to my advantage. He has a week-long conference in Orlando next week, so I'll probably go up there either this weekend or next and we'll hit a park and hang out with Sean. The excellent thing about this is I can fly one-way for about $80, and travel the other direction (Brian's car) and the hotel is paid for by IBM. Pretty sweet.
Looking forward to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which comes out May 22. Trying to plan an Indy Trilogy Marathon party, but it will depend on how the Orlando thing works out.
Semester grades are announced tomorrow. I'm positive I got at least a B, probably an A, so hurray for me.
My committee meeting went quite well, so now I am just supposed to get a revised proposal approved and then start studying for the qualifying exam, which will be the end of June. If I pass, I can then formally apply for candidacy.
Coming home over the weekend of the 14th for Katie's bridal shower, which should be a good time. Looking forward to it, plus it'll be a good break from studying.
