I was watching the Season Finale of Life the other day and one of the songs they used (26 - A New Beginning) had that Zed vibe that I knew would work in a Zed mix. There were two other songs I had in mind that would've given me the motivation to finish it off. However, I got stuck halfway when I started listening to Bernard Fanning's Shelter For My Soul and so it became sort of a late-night Richard Mix. I didn't want to make another Kahlan/Richard mix since I've already done one (Ref: The Midlands Can Wait) although looking back I guess it was bound to happen given their storylines.
Anyway, I wanted to move away from what I had originally made and focused more on a reflective narrative through Richard's and Kahlan's perspective. It begins with an older Richard - a tired Richard - looking back at the things he did and the things he thought with Kahlan (and Zed). There were things he wanted to say that he felt should be left unsaid and it ends with a choice that they both regret later on. I had the episode of 'Denna' in my head when I added Into The Fire.
About here it turns to Kahlan's perspective (A New Beginning) and her view of their adventure in their quest to defeat Darkan Rahl and her thoughts on Richard (Ref: Peter Murray - Sugar). I think having Winding Road was a good way to end the mix, but, of course, I added the last two songs just to end their reflections and because it was a bit corny ;).
Further Notes: A New Beginning and Hands Of Time was originally meant to be part of a Zed mix but I opted to add them here for good measure. Also, I've also added She Is The Sunlight after listening to GirlyEvil's Hello Sunshine.
