This was my final thought - but it suits better at the start. This is first time I used this mood icon. It fits so well with Maou theme (Goth Girl's got devil horns!). Now I just wanted to use it in future just to suit...but I can't be feeling devious all the time... O_o
Maou Episode 7.
Naruse is wrought with plenty of emotions this episode (and I was feeling a bit devious b/c I had looked forward to seeing him a bit shaken up).
- Ikehata had sent a CD-R (of the switched identity situation) to Naruse's sister (before he died). She had hid the CD from Serizawa, who turned up asking. The show made it all suspenseful at this part, seemingly making it so it looked like Naruse was going to get exposed when Serizawa listened to the CD that was in the stereo....but of course, it wouldn't be that easy. Well, it made Naruse nearly in a state of panic - he looked so worried. The Devil is afraid to get caught - or that the game will be over before he reached the end....?
Then the tears came for Naruse, as the sister told her story. It seems that the sister already knew that he wasn't really her brother. She told him that he had given her hope to keep living her life. And she believe in him, no matter what. The exposure of the charade means the end of the relationship. Whether it was guilt of the deception or knowing he was losing the only other person closest to a family member (in the last decade), it was indeed ruffled him thoroughly.
- Serizawa was waiting for Naruse to come out from his visit. He wanted to 'discuss' why Ikehata sent a CD-R to her, etc...I thought - Uh oh..wrong timing mate. Naruse was not happy chap then. And Serizawa said. 'I will ask her again'. Ack! Wrong question...for Narsue kinda exploded (in his controlled sort of way...hah...so unlike 'Serizawa's' type of explosion) and demanded that to not bother his sister again.
- After the tears, Naruse felt more traces of uncertainty (due to Sora’s trust), and then the final crumbling of his barrier towards Shiori’s affection, as he went to hug her. But will Shiori be enough to get him out of his deep dark pit?
- The strings to the bomb have been carefully tied around Kasai, Souda, Serizawa’s brother and Mari. So the explosion is ticking away - one of them or perhaps two will probably be become the next victim in Naruse's plans. It could go any way, since all of them have something to lose and some have shown that they are not to be messed with.
- Yamano. He is getting creepier by the moment. I couldn't believe he had the nerve to giggle and say (to Naruse) that the sister covered for you even though she knew she was being used. *furrows brows* I think Yamano thinks he is superior because Naruse (seems) to tell him things and so he is 'in' the plan. He can't see he is being manipulated like everyone else. But to knock down the sister is pretty much not a smart move. I saw in the preview Yamano getting very agitated on the phone...shouting at Narsue? Hmmm, this spoiler gets me vibes that maybe Yamano will play a bigger part in the play of good vs evil. I think he just won't be able to let go - his buildup could be even worse than Naruse because he just doesn't have anything else to put his feelings...
Ah...the next episodes previews show some long-awaited revelations...it's past the halfway mark now - I don't want it to end yet....
