Stabler: From good cop to bad cliche

I became an SVUer purely to stave off post-Oz depression. Fearing the Meloni drought, I thought, "What the hell, I'll give that SVU thing a try." And at first, I couldn't get into it. Ha! You know, if my sister wanders into the room and Benson is onscreen, my sister inevitably makes a comment on MH's lack of ability. And the ont thing she mentions most is that MH's expressions and inflections never change.

Personally, I think MH has gotten to be a much better actress than she was at the beginning. But she is not, IMO, in Meloni's league, no matter how many Emmy nods she gets.

She has been the beneficiary, also, of sympathetic writing. Meloni has managed to keep Stabler afloat despite the writers' best efforts to ruin him with inconsistent, sometimes ridiculous writing.

I love Belzer and Ice T, but neither does what you would call serious acting, it's true.

I wonder what CM really thinks. I'd be disappointed if he weren't a little disappointed with the way his character's been treated. I don't know if he'll ever give a straight answer though.

It's true that he can handle whatever they give - I just wish they'd give him something good!

As for the kiss - CM said it was just a joke. We'll find out, I guess. I never want to see a Benson/Stabler romance on the show. Unless the only other option is Casey/Stabler.

That would make me run far, far away.
